Category: Enterprise News 2013-09-30

On September 29, the 1st China Grand Rally (CGR)  ended in Dunhuang, Gansu Province. With a total distance of nearly 10,000 kilometers, the rally runs for 16 days, covering eight provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions including Beijing, Hebei, Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Qinghai and Xinjiang, crossing China’s four major deserts. It tops the list of Chinese rallies in terms of scale, difficulty and level, and can be compared to the Dakar Rally in terms of difficulty. Over 100 pairs and over 300 racecars across the world got together to challenge their limits in extreme natural conditions. Haval Team led all the way and eventually claimed the car title and the team title, showing the super strength of the international team.

Dakar-based Haval Team soared in the rally and kept ahead from the very beginning. Throughout the rally, the team not only operated in good conditions, but also showed its tremendous strength, standardized operation mode and great courage as a top international team.

At the finishing line, Dong Ming, commander-in-chief of Haval Team, granted an interview. For him, Haval Team demonstrated its strong combat competitiveness and its results are obvious to all. The outstanding performance of two racecars and its logistics teams in the warm-up for the 2014 Dakar Rally is the biggest harvest in addition to results.

Looking to the 2014 Dakar Rally, Dong said Haval Team has been trying to make improvement despite mounting difficulty. “Maybe everyone is expecting the team to achieve better results, but the competition will be fiercer in the 2014 Dakar Rally. As it is a farewell rally for Argentina, the organizer has made great improvements and changes in terms of route setting and team form. After four years of competition in the Dakar Rally, Haval Team will make greater improvement. In the future, Haval will continue improving itself in international rallies to build China’s own auto brand,” he said.

The 16-day rally has wound up in Dunhuang. Haval Team with outstanding performance in the rally is about to brace itself for the 2014 Dakar Rally. Next, the two racecars will be shipped to France for the final sprint and adjustment. The team will head to South America again in late December 2013 to showcase the strength of Chinese auto brands on the world stage of Dakar for the fifth time.
